False Memory

In the study of psychology, its known that we reconstruct our memories. Anything that is fuzzy, we clarify. Any gaps, we move pieces in to complete the picture. Some people say that it indicates psychological trouble, but many memories that I have that have a missing piece, or a fuzzy segment, I have filled in with me, saving a bunch of people from a housefire. In trying to remember some fuzzy elements of playing high school football, I filled the gap with the new fact that I broke every rushing record in state history. I have some fleeting memories of acting like a jerk, but filled in the rest of those memories with the fact that I was in an intense altercation with a disciple of Adolf Hitler.

I have to stay away from google, but as I get older I gain increasing regard and admiration for myself and my accomplishments as I remember events more clearly.

I've never given myself enough credit it seems.
